Our Guitar Page Sat Untouched for 10 Years. Now We're Reviving It With AI
There's a Facebook page about guitars sitting in our account with 2,400 followers. Nobody has posted on it for almost 10 years.
Most people would call that a dead page. Eric and I looked at it and asked a different question: can AI help turn a forgotten page like this into an income stream?
We don't know yet. That's the point. This episode is the start of a real experiment, and you can watch it right here.
Why a "dead" page is worth a second look
One of the things I hear most from people starting out is "I've got no audience." I get it. Nobody wants to post into an empty room.
But 2,400 people once put their hand up and said "I like guitars." That's not nothing. It's a head start most beginners would love to have, and it's been sitting there gathering dust.
It's also a topic I actually care about. I play guitar, so I'm not going to run out of things to say.
What happened to Eric's last page
Eric has done this before. One of his previous Facebook pages earned around $2,000 in a month. Then it got shut down.
So this time we're thinking about how to build something that lasts. That means making our own original content and only using material we have permission to share. Facebook's own payments also depend on the page qualifying and following the rules, so that's one income source, not the whole plan.
Six ways we might make it pay
Here's what we talked through on the episode:
- Using AI to help research the niche and create content for it
- Facebook content monetisation, if the page qualifies
- Affiliate links for guitar lessons and accessories
- Guitar-themed T-shirts and other products
- A useful free guide so we can build an email list
- Reusing the same content on YouTube, Instagram and other platforms
We won't do all six on day one. We'll try things, see what people respond to, and keep what works.
Why we're doing it out in the open
We could have gone away, built the perfect plan and come back in six months with a polished success story. We'd probably still be planning.
Some of the promotions I've sweated over have flopped, and some I threw together in a minute made me money. You never know until it's out there. So we're sharing what we try, what works and what doesn't, as we go.
If you've got an old page, an old account or a hobby you know inside out, have a think about what you could build with it. If I can do this, anyone can.
The tools we use
To build pages, email lists and the follow-up behind all of this, Eric and I use the HBA Turnkey System. I earn a commission if you join through my link; your price doesn't change.
P.S. What would YOU build a page about? Tell us your hobby or favourite topic in the comments on the video. We read them all.
